Welcome to Kaua‘i, “The Garden Isle.” As
home to one of the wettest spots on earth. Kaua‘i’s
verdant mountains and valleys live up to its billing
as a lush, tropical paradise.
Kaua‘i
is known for the Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of
the Pacific, the Fern Grotto, the Napali Coast and
the championship golf courses. Kaua‘i is also popular
with movie studios as tropical settings for film including,
“6 Days/7 Nights,” “Mighty Joe Young,”
“The Lost World; Jurasic Park,”
“Blue
Hawai‘i” and many more.
Lihu‘e is the county seat of Kaua‘i County, which has
just 4.7 percent (56,435) of the state’s population.
Quite a bit of Kaua‘i’s spectacular scenery is inaccessible
by car. The best way to see it is by helicopter or
for the Napali Coast, by boat.
