KAPAA HISTORY TOUR
Learn about the history and architecture of Kapa‘a town during Kaua‘i Historical Society’s 90-minute walking tour. Interpretive guides tell about the Japanese Stone Lantern and other stories of the area. Tours at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Reservations required: (808) 245-3373. $

MUSEUM
This non-profit organization is a permanent science, art
and cultural exploratory museuma hands-on, touch,
see, feel and learn museum of experience. The museum is
fun for the entire familythose that live here and
those that are visiting. KCDM is a community venture made
possible through the generosity of individual and business
sponsors, foundations, and government agencies. Kaua‘i Children's
Discovery Museum is in the Kaua‘i Village Shopping Center
in Kapa‘a. Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

KAUAI MUSEUM TOUR
The Kaua‘i Museum houses a permanent collection of ancient Hawaiian artifacts plus photographs and artifacts from the recent past that document the island’s plantation heritage. GEOLOGICAL FACTS
Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau are the oldest of the main islands at
five million years old. Because of its maturity, Kaua‘i
has broad, lush erosional valleys and coastal features such
as fringing coral reefs and sandy beaches. Waimea Canyon,
referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,”
is Hawai‘i’s largest erosional valley at 3,567 feet at its
deepest and about 14 miles long.

the West Kaua‘i Technology & Visitor Center (Waimea Canyon

is taught each Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. For
