Appetizer: "Teriyaki Meat Sticks"

Island Recipes - Teriyaki Meat Sticksyield: 18-20 pieces

  • 1 pound beef, cut in 4-inch strips
  • Marinade:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sake (rice wine), or sherry
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger root, crushed

Thread meat strips on skewers by weaving skewer in and out; set aside.

Combine Marinade ingredients in resealable bag; mix well. Add beef sticks; marinate 15-30 minutes. Broil, turning once and basting occasionally until desired doneness, about 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.
